im getting the classic problem, the game hangs after the copyright screen. i have tried EVERY option in the menu including the acurate cd timing. but nothing helps. im using a real PSX cd btw. here is the log of the messages i get in the DOS window:

* Running ePSXe emulator version 1.4.0.
* Memory handlers init.
* ePSXe: PSX BIOS loaded [D:\EPSXE\Bios\SCPH1001.BIN].
* Init Core W9x cdrom ... [E] ok
* First/Last track: 1 1
* Track 1: (DATA) - Start 0: (00,02,00) - Length 68:56
* Testing readmode (0/3)
* Doing init gpu...
* Gpu open...
* Direct input init ok.
* NTSC cdrom detected.
* Error reading CD: 0x0004 0,2,16

as u can see the last line indicates an error. as i said, accurate timing is on.

That line is usually caused by a sccratched CD... there are 2 things you could do:
1. try making an ISO out of it... usually it helps.
2. if it doesn't work, find another copy... or get someone who has the "proper" sectors to send them to you....
