Me and my friend are looking to find a few games to play over our LAN, problem is the only other decent computer we have is pretty low end.

So far my list is:
UT:GOTY
UT2003
UT2004
Halo 1
OpenArena

Here is the specs of the low end computer:
AMD Athlon X2 BE-2350 @ 2.6GHz
2GB Cosair DDR2-667 RAM
nVidia GeForce 6150LE
120GB HDD Space
XP SP3
Etc. Etc.

Don't forget the old games!

Doom Co-op @ nightmare difficulty
Duke Nukem 3D Co-op & Deathmatch
Quake deathmatch, CTF, TF, Rocket Arena -> there's like a ton of mods
Quake 2: same as above different/better levels
Counter Strike

And on it goes...

In the FPS range, these should perform very nicely while still being very enjoyable (graphically and gameplay-wise) on both ends:
- True Combat Elite (a WolfeinsteinET mod that replicates the gameplay of Counterstrike)
- Urban Terror

Another option is emulators with netplay.
Very true.

Thanks, I'll check out the games listed in that thread.

I believe I've played that game before. In fact, I may gave it in my collection somewhere.

Sounds good.

Will give those a try.

Diablo II is great for two player, but to get the full experience, having four players is just a real treat.
I've played Diablo 2 before. Couldn't get into it for some reason.

You could play just about anything... it's all about lowering the graphic settings.

Hmm.. Possibly. But newer games on ultra-low settings tend to look worse than the older games.

Something to add to the list: Sauerbraten, Cube 2, whatever it's called. Fun-ass free game.

Assault cube (free)
cnc ra or ra2
Total anhiliation
Baldur's gate 2 (yes theres multiplayer)

Btw if its just one person over your lan i wouldnt recomend any fps games, since these usually have maps made for at a minimum of 4 players,

Small maps are fine though.
i always detested one on ones myself (unless its a map specificaly made for duels), but if your able to live with them its all good.
