Ok, new PC, new problem. I'm unable to run Ghost in the Shell with either ePSXe version 1.6.0 or 1.5.2. Running from a CD from either gives me an error, so I made an ISO. In both versions I just get a blank (black) screen, indefinitely. No error message, nothing.

I'm using the plugins and settings from the last thread, but previousy I was able to at least start the game. Now I have no idea what is stopping it from working.

Plugins:
P.E.Op.S. Soft Driver 1.16 (GFX)
P.E.Op.S. DSound Audio Driver 1.9
ePSXe CDR WNT/W2K core 1.5.2.


Machine Specs:
Athlon 64 2800+
Geforce FX 5600
512mb DDR SDRAM
LiteOn CD-RW

what did you make the ISO with?

also i'd suggest if you run it off a CD, use Peops (best) or Sapu's or Xeven's (autoconfigures)

Running it off the CD causes an almost instant crash, whether I use the ePSXe or Peops plugin. I made the ISO with MAgicISO, but I'm making one with CloneCD to try out (though there wasn't an option to actually make an ISO, It's just ripping it to whatever format it does use).

The cloneCD image works even less!

Screenshot of the errors I get from 1.6.0 and 1.5.2 Interestingly the error for each is slightly different (DOS prompt=1.5.2, window=1.6.0).

ISO is what we called a binary image of the data on a cd, with added information about the cd data structure. It doesn't matter the format used (img, iso, bin, nrg, mdf/mds, etc), it still is an ISO image.

Have you tried using PSXeven or using Mooby's plugin/virtual drive?

OK, I extracted the ISO with Nero, and converted it to a .bin, and now it works. Very odd.
