Hi !

Is this:

enough to run up to N64 games ?

I'm looking for an alternative of my ipad air 2 which is a pain to get emulators on it and I must say that 2 in 1 laptops are attractives.
I was thinking for a Samsung Galaxy A 10.1 too.

I'm not too much interested with classic laptops.
Gonna play with bluetooth PS4.

Thanks !

In short: Yes.

The hardware, as meager as it is, is fine. We've been doing N64 emulation since the Pentium 3.

However, it includes Windows 10 S. You can only run apps downloaded from the Microsoft Store and most emulators are simply NOT available there. You'll need to fully update the laptop via Windows Update and then look up "disable S Mode" in the Microsoft Store to turn it into a fully functioning laptop. I must also point out that this laptop is almost completely unupgradable(?) and its 64GB of storage will quickly become a problem.

As a side note, I personally think that laptop is horribly overpriced. You're honestly better with older hardware when it's massively better: Amazon.ca: Buying Choices: Dell Laptop Latitude E6540 15.6" i7 4810MQ Radeon HD 8790M 8GB RAM 256GB SSD Windows 7 <- $399.00 for a laptop 4x more powerful. It's not a 2-in-1 but I am of the opinion that "good" 2-in-1s only exist at $1,000+. (Well $1,200+ since we're talking Canadian dollars)

First of all, that CPU is rubbish for any modern N64 emulator, and it's even more rubbish for any SNES and PSX emulator focused on accuracy.

  • No Hyper-Threading
  • No AVX
  • Base frequency: 1.10 GHz
  • Burst frequency: 2.60 GHz

What? UltraHLE, Corn, Nemu64, 1964, Project64 (<= 1.6.1)?
The only people who are happy with such "emulators" are those who never had an N64 and don't know how games behaved on real hardware.

Yeah, good 2 in 1 laptops are expensives, I wish I could buy one hehe.
I was really not sure about the vivobook thanks for the confirmation guys !

I managed to pay 150$ CND for a Samsung Galaxy A 10.1 , hope it will be great.

Seems pretty good at 8:20 for emulation:
