I got this pretty good idea for a remake on a pokemon game. I just don't know though how to actually edit any emulated games... Any help?

What you're basically need to start a rom hack is editors. GBA rom hackers of pokemon games have written extensive and detailed tutorials on the subject, remember google is your friend. Keywords: "pokemon rom hacking"
