Hello everyone:

I am playing FFIV DS on my laptop, and it runs almost perfectly at the beginning. However, it becomes ridiculously slow(like 30-40%) after about an hour. Moreover, my PC usually crashes if I run programs like Internet Explorer or RealOne Player. Besides, it seems that I cant shutdown the laptop in the regular way anymore. Can anyone of you please tell me what is going on? I am indeed confused...

What version of the emu are you using? Also, you can try the suggestions in the sticky FAQ thread, but I doubt that will help much in speeding up the game.

I don't see how this has anything to do with no$gba. >_> Please post this question in the correct section of the forum.

Overheating is the problem here. Your laptop is slowing down because it's overheating and underclocking itself to try and maintain operation whilst remaining cool which means it runs slower to try and not reach critical heat. Get yourself a cooling pad which should at least alleviate the problem a little if not remove it entirely. This is not no$gba's fault, any other app which uses your processor as much as no$gba does would cause the same result.

I see. I've tried NBA 2k9 on my laptop and the system slowed down and crashes right afterwards. I noticed that the fan of my laptop did not function well recently, and guess I need to replace it with a new one.
