The Conduit 2 - Scans, info (local multiplayer):

Details:

GoNintendo said:
- Team says the first game had the player doing “the same thing over and over and over again”
- Want to do more with level design, gameplay design
- Embracing sci-fi element
- Game starts off with thunder, torrential downpour, you’re in a huge oil derrick in the middle of an ocean
- Picks up immediately after the original when you enter the portal
- Not sure where you are when you enter the portal and land in the ocean
- Derrick’s occupants begin to shoot at you
- Game will have some “big vistas and multi-tiered areas”
- Multiple paths, team wants the game “to feel bigger and give players the sense that there’s more going on”
- Sea serpent attacks the facility
- “Having those types of ‘wow’ moments is really important”
- Quantum 3 engine still being refined
- Ford continues to go through the oil derrick, fights with the leviathan one-on-one
- Have to use one of the derrick’s mounted defense targets since normal weapons won’t work
- Serpent targets you and generator that powers the turrets
- Need to find the serpent’s weak points, stun him, then impale him with a harpoon from a turret
- Game has an airborne chase scene, take control of a ship’s rear gun emplacement, shoot pursuers (one enemy type is jet pack-equipped soldiers)
- More NPCs, Ford can interact with them
- There are other aliens besides Adams around the world who control territories
- Adams has been particularly successful, wants to take over the world
- Ford needs to get the help of the other aliens
- Atlantis is the hub, portals to other areas are there
- Some freedom in terms of which stage you’ll take on next
- One mission has you going to Washington DC, need to recover important artifact from the Smithsonian
- More alien growth in the city than in the first game, Drudge and Trust still fighting there
- “AI vs. AI vs. player now”
- Will happen upon fights already taking place
- “The AI in particular has been a big focus for us. We really want the enemies to come across as intelligent. In the first game, they just sit there waiting for you to show up. This time, we want it to feel like a living environment, like everyone was doing something before you got there.”
- Interactive elements in the environment (stuff moves, objects break, enemy knocks over soda machine for cover)
- Wider variety of hostiles, some specific to a location
- Atlantis: 30-foot-tall Guardians
- Siberia: Robotic wolves
- Differences between human soldiers, can carry any weapon (affects AI)
- SEGA/High Voltage will be holding a contest: Can get your name/face on a Missing Person flier or a Wanted poster
- 18 firearms from the original
- Have to tune the Phase Rifle by twisting Wiimote
- Deployable Turret: Set it down, control it with handheld display, can pull the trigger and have it autoaim or target manually
- Regarding the AsE: “…more puzzles and hacking minigames. It’s also a bit more of a detective tool now, we’re trying to put a lot more conspiracy objects and secrets in the environments to give you more reasons to use the ASE. Once you’ve scanned an object, you’ll be able to learn more about it in the game’s new data log. So it really plays into us trying to tell a deeper story.”
- ASE tied to Atlantis
- Using the ASE, can have a bit of control over the Guardians
- 12 players online
- due out this fall

The Grinder - Info:

The Grinder staying FPS on Wii, still looking for a publisher
March 30, 2010 by The News Team Filed Under: Wii

"The expansion of Grinder to 360 and PS3 and its subsequent change in gameplay and perspective has been somewhat misinterpreted as a universal change across all platforms. We still genuinely love the Wii and would ideally like to see a publishing partner pick up both a FPS Wii version and a third-person action version specific to the 360 and PS3. We have invested more than year into the Wii; the game is extremely fun, and frankly, we wouldn't want to see that work 'thrown away'. But when we decided to add the 360 and PS3 platforms it didn't seem to make much sense to jump on the rainbow chasing treadmill of trying to do the same game for such dissimilar consoles and end up short changing one or the other." - High Voltage's chief creative officer, Eric Nofsinger

Metroid looks awesome awesome. The Conduit 2 i dont know. The first one had a really boring generic art style. Now it seems they just threw a bunch of random stuff, called it a new art direction and hope it sticks :\
Metroid looks amazing, indeed. And the info we have about TC 2 is good (local multiplayer!), the screens also look good (outdoor stages!), but I'll wait for more footage before saying anything about it. =)

As for me this new Arcade game caught my attention.

oO

That game is just a little weird. Weirdly cool. =P

Yeah what's with the style.

I mean nobody can't deny the effect Batman has made on superheroes.
I like the idea of playing Spider-Man in first person, that could be interesting. Also, they aren't using the same art style which was used in Arkham Asylum but I hope this game turns out as good as the last Batman.

The Conduit is big crap. Hopefully the sequel will be decent.
TC isn't that bad, it's a good game that was way too hyped and failed to deliver everything it promised. I hope they learn from their mistakes and make a better game this time.

Wow that metroid game looks really cool ....

Sonic 4 - Gameplay video [Updated]:

I'm still not impressed. :(

Xenoblade - First trailer:

The graphics need some work (they looked a lot better in the last batch of pics/scans - maybe this video is from an old build), but it looks like the game has a pretty cool story. I'm interested. :)

Well, it's not related to Xenogears and Xenosaga but it's from the same studio/team, so if you liked those games there's a high chance you will enjoy this one as well.

Short summary of dialog (from Xenoblade):

"Long ago, when this world was nothing more than endless sea and unbroken sky no matter where you went, two giant gods were born -- Kyoshin and Kishin. The gods fought for their lives. And then, they became corpses. Now, after many tens of thousands of days and nights..."

New Super Mario Galaxy 2 trailer incoming in less than 24 hours

A little birdy told me that there might be a new Super Mario Galaxy 2 trailer popping up very soon. That very soon would actually be somewhere around 1 PM EST. Me thinks that some people got to play the game yet again, and that there's new assets to be spread around. One way or another, we'll make sure to get you all those goodies as soon as they become available!

Wow Glad other looks pretty nice! :thumb:

I hope that Tecmo Team Ninja introduce new bosses and monster. Though even if they don't it would be awesome to play.

Doesn't it?! This new trailer is amazing, the game looks so fast. Awesome. :thumb:

It's the game that will finally make you buy a Wii, PCXL-San. :p

OT: We haven't talked in a while. =/

The gameplay portion of Other M looks great (I wish they would stick to third person only, but hey, whatever, still looks GREAT).

The story aspect feels... Different. Not sure I like it yet, but not 100% sure what they'll do with it either.
Hopefully it rocks too, but even if it doesn't it's not a huge deal.

yeah i'm not certain i like what i've seen of the the story too much either, I also don't like the way she is portrayed in the videos or voice. She seems somewhat emotionally weak and fragile for the universes greatest bounty hunter.

I prefered Samus when she had no voice back in the gameboy and snes and you could imagine what she was.

May get Xenoblade. It may renounce my interest for my Wii that's getting dusty on the shelf. If it's made by the same guys that made Xenogears, then I will most likely give this one a try. :) I haven't played Xenogears so much but I've played it for a few hours and like the feel and premise of the game so far. :D

Yeah, that was a shame. We'll get to play it sooner or later, though.

Yeah, I think Xenoblade is the closest thing of Xenagears/Xenosaga you can get.

Many cool videos, too bad Sega Europe took down the Sonic 4 video, they really need the publicity!
