Hi, i just saw the extreme progress for Vu-Rec. But as you said it is only for SSE2, i have an AMD XP 2800+ and jeah, not so lucky, it has only SSE.

So are you able to get some of the improvements in the SSE version or in the future it will only be possible to play with a SSE2 processor?

I KNOW that you cant say anything about the hardware, cause it isnt finished, but like i said, will the SSE version benefit from the improvements with Vu-Rec? Like i maybe say you know better ways or something?

Kekko coded a way for vuREC to use just SSE and not SSE2 instructions, so the next release will support vuREC for even the older CPU's. Whilst this is great, eventually that will become redundant, as simply put the older cpu's will be useless, and you will NEED a modern / future CPU.

Jeah, but i just bought this CPU in january and dont have that much money, so it would be wonderful, if what you say is possible.

And are there some prosperities? For example is the performance extremely bad or would it be possible to have nearly the same or some fps lower than the sse2 version?

OK, "when" it will be available, i will buy a CELL processor for my pc, but not earlier than in two jears :D

SSE vuREC runs at 'similiar' speeds to SSE2 base vuREC. So you will get a significant speed boost, when I say significant I mean 1 FPS to around 10 FPS (depending on game), which is significant because it's 10x faster, but no where near full speed.

It's hard to say, given so much will change evern between now and release.

I'm hoping the same thing, considering I'm currently running the same processor. I wouldn't mind as much though, since I'm planning for a system upgrade this month. Still, though, thanks for taking the time to answer this to the best of your ability, CK. :)

GSsoft would totally make vuREC pointless, as the graphics rendering would be so slow you wouldn't notice the effects of vuREC, GSdx will be the way to go, if you want to see the speed.
