How does this emulator run final fantasy 7 through 9? I was just messing with syphon filter 3 and the sound is absolutly terrible.
I want to know if Epsxe runs the final fantasys well before I go out and purchase the games. Also I would like to note, I have more then what is required to run this emulator(geforce2Ultra), so system specs is no problem for running the games. Im only interested in the fianl fantasy's, so I truly hope this emulator runs them well. Thanks for any input.

FF7-9 runs flawlessly on my comp.. See my profile for my system specs.. Here is a shot of FF9.. So you can see what to expect.. The sound needs a little spu pluggin tweaking but it works great once you get the sound options correct.. Do a search for "Sound" in the epsxe forum..
fivefeet8, could you send me your plugin cfg to my hotmail? Im guessing its only like 50k which would take you like two secs to send through hotmail. If not, maybe you can tell me your settings? Im going to purchase the games tommorrow so if you could help me out, that would be terrific. Thanks again man.

I could do that, but I am running on a voodoo 5 5500 agp.. Since you have a Geforce2 Ultra, its better to get a config file from one of the Geforce users on the boards.. I am using lewpys glide pluggin which is specifically for voodoo cards.. Create a new thread and ask specifically for a config file for geforce2 video cards.. I am sure the people on the boards with geforces will be happy to send it.. If you still want, I will send it to you.. But you will need to change gpu pluggins to use it..

As for sound, I have heard people saying that the Eternal spu pluggin sounds the best for FF9.. I myself use Iori's spu for FF9 and the internal spu for FF7 and 8..

If you use epsxe executor, you can import the config reg files that people can send you to set the configuration right away.. You can also create config reg files and send them to people as well with executor.. Executor makes configuring and running epsxe a lot easier.. It can save different configurations of different games allowing you to use certain configurations with differents games with one click.. Has memcard manager and savestate manager options as well..

I found the best plug-in for Nvidia cards is Pete's OpenGL plug-in. The Direct3D plug-in also works but is significantly slower (in Win2K, I dunno about Win9x). The "nice" setting works pretty good for me (with a bit of tweaking). Just remember to take off all filtering, or at least 2D filtering, since it'll result in the horrible tile effect for the 2D background images.
hey i am not getting any sound, would this still apply?
i have an nvidia tnt2

No.. He is referring to the gpu not spu pluggin.. which is for the graphics.. For your sound problems, try different spu's.. I heard that the eternal spu is good for FF9, but I use iori's spu.. Petes ogl pluggin should work good on your tnt2, but it won't solve your sound problem..

i am playing final fantasy tactics
hehe I got all final fantasy series, I'm a big fan of final fantasy game eheh bought all of them hehe,
epsxe1.4 works well in all final fantasy games,
but you need to tweak abit for some game,
1:
ff7, if you use pete's gpu *which is the best I believe for nvidia cards* you need to turn on the special fix * it's one of the tick box under special fix, you'll find it easy :).
2.
ff8, don't use save state from the emulator or else it stuff you up with the in game cinamatic *mdec* :( . just use the normal save from the game and it will be fine hehe :)
3.
ff9, you need to download the patch for ff9 and link it up with pete's cdr plugin * if you use pete's cdr plugin ofcoz, hehe you should anyway* ie, link up patch for disc 1 while you play disc 1 and link up patch 2 for disc2 hehe.
that's all, and you'll be fully enjoy ff games hehe,

wish there is a patch for suikoden :( it's suck when I can't play it,
hm.... no i think its something wrong with my comp....
i tried running it with vgs... no sound
tried running with bleem! 1.5 and it said that my sound card is being used or sumfin?
