why wud you want him to explain? he DID list FFVIII as a "bloody great" game so i think that explains a lot already.

EDIT: I heard the ps2 version of Grandia II actually sucked in terms of gfx to the DC version. actually, looking at screenshots of the ps2 version, i can safely say the DC version eats the ps2 version for breakfast in terms of texture quality, something that the graphics of this game was originally built on.

From what I heard the PS2 version has slow down and was a bad port. As for the First Final Fantasy with a female lead, I would say FF6 was the first with Tera...The story went around her the most... so yeah...and I'm sorry about the dreamcast...

I liked FF8 but i see why many didnt after play the last disc. I just can't understand how people liked FFX-2. I didnt really care for FFX either.

See, I hated teh story of FF8, and well the game felt more like work than anything...some things were cool, but over all meh...I remember thinking "why am I playing this....?"...but yeah, it could have been all the hype before hand that mades me hate the game so much, I don't know...but still...

>Everyone has differing fanboi preferences for pre-FFX FFs, but everyone has to agree that FFX was complete ****.

Disagree. FFX was superb. FFX-2 was fun, but suffered from Charlies Angels syndrome and had a poor plot.... and poor music.... and annoying VA.... and was short.....
FFX tho had a great plot and great characters. Sure the VA in the Eng version was lacking, but the rest of the game was downright superb.

Eye's on me was a good song...the only pop music I can really stand is from japan (they seems to put a little more work into than in the U.S.). Now if only they would let metal bands from Europe do a song for the game here and there...haha, I don't feel like turning this into a music thread

1000 words was good (The Piano version anyway), as was Eternity ~Memory of Lightwaves~, but Real Emotion? The bad remakes of the various area songs? Next ot FFX it's nothing.

Well, technically the music really rocked. Especially some battle themes tended to stop sounding like simple MIDIs. On the other hand the compositions (which weren't done by Uematsu, by the way) were quite average, nothing special as you might expect from a Final Fantasy.

I am looking forward to FFXII, because my favourite composer Hitoshi Sakimoto had his hands on this, too.

real emotion wasnt that good compare to 1000 words, but still verry nice. And the music u hear in Guadosalam at chapter 5 was really nice. Was FFX-2 main theme or something.

And FFX ending was really sad :/ it actually gave me a sad feeling... think i never had that with any FF before..

btw any release date yet on FFXII ? i saw some cinmatics of it at game store.. didnt really liked it that much.. I dont know how to explain it.. But the charecters looks kinda weird..all verry blury i notice they all look like that in the new games.. its totaly not like the FFX or FFX-2 style the way the character. Is it there attempt to make the charecters look more human like that makes them look so blury ?

That's waht made it so great. None of this cop out 'everything is fine' crap that we see in Hollywood and other games day after day.

FFX ending was kinda emotional, but like Kane said, thats what made it a great game from the squaresoft logo till the credits.

Yeah, the ending was very sad, but yet happy to because something something happened(I'm not going to spoil anything). I agree that the game was good till the last drop...or if you will, bit. Good till the last bit....

I rushed through FFX and so im not attached to it like some. Beat it in a 5 days or so. But i thought the ending was kinda of dumb and for you people who havent played you'll find out. But seems like everyone really likes the game so ill give it another chance and play it again.

talking about FFX-2, to be honest, its not such a bad game, if it is considered as a game for those, who need more of FFX characters.

Stand alone FFX-2 is a big embarassment to the whole series.

If it's an expansion to FFX it's a mockery of a sham of a mockery of a sham of a sham. You go from a really dark and non-pop story arc suddenly to Charlies Angels hit Spira. It's just wrong.
