I dunno the voice acting in the grandia series really suck...or maybe you are talking about their other titles.

Somehow I don't think you've played Grandia 2 oO

But I got the feeling the voices were slightly different in the PC version, when compared to the Dreamcast version. It might be my imagination as well.

Anyhow, Grandia 2 has got about the best voice acting I've heard. The voices fit the characters perfectly, and the voices are full of emotion when they need to.

I thought FFX has rather good acting, not all the tiem though, like the laughing parts where kinda crapy...Grandia 2 was done very well, I love that game...ending sucked though...

The Grandia II ending was way too 'all is cheerful and good'. If you talk about RPG endings, I prefer the slightly dark ending of FFX

i dont remember the grandia II ending at all. actually, i dont remember the story of that game...something about good priest turned evil? i just remember it for the [email protected]$$ battle system.

I beg to differ, ending was too cheesy and uninspired. Plenty of dialog but little is said about everything not to mention that it was not conclusive... good ending on a RPG? Look at FFIX, FFX, Lunar TSS, EB just to name some...

Grandia 2 had some annoying voice actors. Kid. Mareg, and partially ryudo.. man wtf they used the voice of the teenage mutant ninja turtle leonardo..

True, but dual layers discs are more expensive than single layer ones. Look, to make this absolutely clear, Square is a company that releases games to make money. As such, they will not spend extra for a dual layer/second disc if they don't think they will gain more money as a result than it costs them. What's so difficult about this to understand? This is the same reason why game companies didn't always put save chips in cartridge games, even when they could have easily been added for roughly $0.02 a unit. It's all about making money.

FFx is dual layer. Just check it in your pc. Use dvddecrypter and set it to read (iirc). Just checking in it in windows or dvddecrypter without the proper settings won't allow the second layer to be read.

Btw, i didn't like the FFX ending. It was too short imo. The story almost concluded when it was near the last fight, everything was set and there was nothing left to imagination nor great twists (near the end, remember).

I said that FFX was crappy not just because the voice acting, but the story, characters, ending, world, gameplay... do I have to continue? Heck, I'm happy I didn't buy it...

But I think I liked it more than FFX-2...

With the grandia thing, only one I couldn't stand was the kid. and with FFX, I was surpized, I liked it a lot, still wasn't a FFVII to me, but I doubt anything ever will be...

FFVII-FFIX and shenmue = bloody great games

anyway of course square wont make them with jap audio and sub and of course the voice acting will suck and of course this will ruin the game but we will all buy it anyway because its FF so square dont care, in fact it doesnt even have to be FF it just has to say square on the box and we will buy it I am, of course, refering to the bloody horrible Star Ocean and i may as well mention kingdom hearts while I'm at it. anyway I hate square now but I'll still buy this game hate it swear at them and add it to the list of crap games you see above

Funny you say Shenmue... even though the game was superb it featured what is possibly the worst voice acting ever... phrases such as: "On that day, did you see a black car?" still haunt my mind...

Hmm voice acting can be annoying (Brave Fencer anyone?) but that doens't mean the game is bad...About the if "Square" is writting on the box we'd buy....I kinda agree, but I'm not longer like that...after what's been put out lately...I borrow The bouncer from my friend, and the only reason I finished it, was because I started (and becauseit's short). Bad game....BAD....

Hows the ps2 version of Grandia 2? I would get the dc if mine still worked but its not.

As for FF-2 it really wasnt very good besides voice acting much better and graphics more cleaned up. But no good story at all. They shouldve just stuck with the international versions extra clip.

As for FFXII does the main character still look like a girl? I remember when i watched a preview few months ago my brother came into my room and at first glance asked me if this was first FF to have girl as the main character.
