Although this it isn't a HUGE deal, I would like to know why the Battles are so slow in my FFIX game. The exploring part of the game is basically perfect, but whenever I enter a battle the game starts to lag. I would like to know the reason for this slowdown, and, if possible, a way to speed the battle screen up.

I have a 400mhz...hehe...that's basically all I know.

Turn off screen to standard and Frame buffer texture to black.
Use frame skipping and turn off FPS limit.

Also, converting the game to .bin format and playing it from your harddrive can dramatically improve upon, and in most cases fix the problem you are describing...
