Keep on using it in FF9 only and you will eventually run into other problems later on in the game(there is more than one).. Infact, I remember someone who only used savestates and the game got stuck at a certain place for him everytime.. Too bad he didn't have the game backupped on a memcard.. Had to start all over again..
