When I go into battle, there is a constant blinking of the message boxes and the characters. It's rather annoying. How can I fix this?

I have a Amd 1.2 GHZ and a Geforce 2 MX. Im using Pete's OpenGL Renderer with the "Nice" preset.

I actually had the same problem with FF9, Unfortunately I no longer have that card, and forget what the fix was. Although this isn't a message to tell you how to fix it, this IS a message telling you it CAN be fixed :)
No good

Nope, that didn't fix it. I appreciate your reply though.
I used to have that problem, same vid card and GPU. I did something to get rid of it, can't remember what. Here are some of my settings, though:

Alpha MultiPass: On
Mask Bit: On
Advanced Blending: On
Off-Screen drawing: 3
Bilinear Filtering: 0
Framebuffer: 2
Special Game Fix: G4 Polygon Cache

Hope some of those help...
wow, I haven't posted in a LONG time. This is just an idea tho. Using the "nice" defaults puts offscreen drawing to extended, which has given me the same prob in other games. Try changing that to enhanced instead. hope that helps.

p.s. Glad my username and password still works, and that I remembered them on my first guess. Specially since I haven't posted since it was emuforums.com abou 4 months ago. :):)
Yes, that has fixed it. Thanks to everyone who helped replyed.
I'm gonna post my settings in case anyone else has this problem:
