I have played and experienced no such problems since ePSXe 1.2.0
I have tested it on linux and Windows 98SE, Windows Millenium, Windows 2000, Windows XP (Without and with SPs).
Download ePSXe 1.6.0
Install it as well as Pete's latest drivers. However, I recommend using the OpenGL plugin instead of the OpenGL2 on Windows.
Install the latest drivers for your GFX card as well as the latest DirectX (9.0c)
Check dxdiag and enable AGP as well as Direct3d acceleration if you decide to use the DirectX or Direct3D plugin.
Check your OpenGL settings in your GFX Installation.
For YOUR PC config, I DON'T recommend enabling all options in your graphics plugin, since that could slow the emu too much.
For your BIOS, use SCPH 7502.
Video plugin: Pete's OpenGL 1.75
Sound : ePSXe CORE
CD: ePSXe Core for most games, except if you need patching, then use Pete's CD plugin.

That should work for you.

try using Pete's D3D DX6, see how that works. also try ETernal Lite SPU, it sounds a hell of a lot better than the internal core one.

anyway, i'd recommend completely playing off an ISO. seems like you have Alcohol120%, make it in cloneCD format with teh subchannel file and you wont need a PPF patch.
