Fighting Force [PAL]

Hello I'm new to this board and I have a problem!

I have a copy of Fighting Force [PAL] and no matter how I try to play the game either though the CD rom or .bin file I seem to be having problems running the game and I know it's not my CD because the game works on my PS2.

For a start the game is running rather sluggish, it's a little slow. Also the game is not reading the music file from either the .bin file or from the CD rom itself.

Aprantly the NSTC verson of this game is 100% perfect but it can not get the PAL verson working proberly. I know the programmers are busy people so I'm not exspecting any mircles here but any help would be greatly recived.

(this config works with all other games apart from Viewpoint [PAL] which seems to crash due to some error!)

thanks for taking the time to read this message!

what are your computer specs and what plugins are you using? have you tried using different emulators?
erm well I have raideon 9200 256mb graphics card, 1gig ram., can't remeber what processor but it's a fairly fast AMD one.

I'm mainly using pete's plugin's (Open GL) and I'm generaly running the emu on the defualt "nice" settings.

Another game that I'm having problems with is Magical Drop 3 [PAL]. For some reason the music when you play "solo" mode just gets messed up and it's not the disk because I tested it on my ps2 and it's fine... oh hum the trials of PSX emu gaming I suppose :)
what spu plugin are you using? Eternal SPU is the best one, use it if you aren't arleady. but try to use peops spu if you're already using eternal to see if it's a bug with it (eternal).
(this relates more to the magical drop problem than the first one)
Meh it's still no good, I think it's an emu problem because I've even tried re-ripping the .ISO with ISObuster and it's stil that one bit of music in MD3 that is messing up.
Well I dunno if it'll help, but try turning on all the sound fixes (both the irq hack in the sound config window and the hacks in the sound plugin itself).
Yeah tried all that and no joy... meh!

This game is not even on the ePSXe combatiblity list so I think this game still needs work. It's not just the sound either for some reason it runs slower in solo mode while the other modes are ok.
You didn't answer hushy's question/request.
Try some other emulators. Good one is PSXeven. PCSX and SSSPSX are also good or so I've heard. They all use a similar plugin system so it won't be too hard to set up.
There are many games that simply do not work with one of the emulators.

Well I've tried plenty of them... ePSXe has worked the best so far. Most I can;t even get to run properly & don't work with the PAD very well.
Well after trying every emu and sound and video plugin I can definately say I'm either missing something or it's an emu problem. I doubt the rather talented programmers will really want to know but were do I submitt my fidnings to (reporting bugs and that).

thanks in advance!
do you get the exact same behaivor when using PSXeven or SSSPSX? or are there other problems?

you said you cant get them to run properly (what does that mean..?) and as for pad plugins, try Harakiri. you can use the same BIOS and plugins/plugin configs with those other emulators, and they are easy to set up. all you have to do is use a pad plugin.
Urgh... Yep I used a whole maner of differnt pad plugins thanks to a plugin pack I downloaded off the internet. I contained many differnt plugins including PAD ones but for some reason some would'nt register my pad and others wouldn't let me configure the pad properly.

Well on the other EMU's MD3 would run really, really slowly even on the defualt graphic settings and yes I'm using every single graphics/sound plugin under the sun to try to get it to work.

p.s: PSXpro keep crashing when I try to configure it, can't use the emu without it apperntly and I've even tried re-downloading it :S
ew, dont use plugin packs, dont download plugins from anywhere off the internet, and never have a crapload of plugins in your plugins folder (it can slow down your emulator, it has to check all those you know). just use harakiri's plugin, it's great (there are other good ones too but since you cant pick, ill pick for ya).

and uh, i guess i missed the abbreviation, what is md3?
sorry about the abbreviation MD3 = Magical Drop 3...

Yeah I'll look out for the plugin you mentioned and see if that works.

*EDIT*

OK just tried the plugin you suggested and it works thanks very much but there is still the problem of PSXeven having the same sort of problem but even worse than ePSXe. This time the music get's stuck on the main menu!! :hdbash:

I've tried a few sound plugins but I think this is more of an emulation thing, after all the games I seem to be playing are not really sort of mainstream games if you catch my drift.
H games? :p ask Kirby for tech support then

well, to make sure it's an emulation problem, try Peops soft plugin and try different emulators. if the same problem happens over and over...it may be your game. you're playing all legit games, right? i've seen many a case where the DLed game is the source of problems, not the emulator...
Oh yeah all the games I play are mine either straight from the CD or burned to ISO file from one of my legitimate offical psx CD's. It's defo' not the CD because it works on my PS2 just fine and the disc is in mint condition. In that big list of compatable games the PAL version of Fighting Force and Magical Drop 3 are not even on the list!!

Oh yeah I also decovered today that to get music with ridge racer revolution you must play it VIA the cd. But saying that there are quite a few games that do that to my understanding.
You can get CDDA music from an ISO using Mooby's plugin with ePSXe.
Other than n_w95482's method, you also can obtain CDDA music by running off the CD.
if you want CDDA music from an ISO you also have to rip the .cue file with it. or just play off a straight up ISO. but if you make a bin/cue image, dont delete the cue.

Yeah I know that already FB ;)
