FFX International - Sphere Grid problem

I just got the game running on my Mac (very happy about that), but in the sphere grid I don't have the Move/Use menu. Pressing Circle just jumps me back and forth between characters. I've mashed every other button, but didn't help my case. I don't know if a screenshot will be helpful, but here it is:
