I'm running FFX (A39517AB) with the following patches on:

//Tidus, Wakka, Lulu, Yuna, Kimahri, Auron, Rikku

patch=1,EE,0031edbb,word,00000063
patch=1,EE,0031eb6b,word,00000063
patch=1,EE,0031ec93,word,00000063
patch=1,EE,0031ebff,word,00000063
patch=1,EE,0031ee4f,word,00000063

When i have the patches on and get into a battle, the fight option is missing. All my characters start with the Skill option.

Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?

Maybe(just maybe)it's because you use "word" instead of "byte".Using "word" on this cheat will make 3 addresses before the 99(63)cheat to always be set to 0 and maybe that's the problem.

Replace "word" with "byte" and try again.
Byte is used for cheats that uses values from 0 to 255
Short from 0 to 65535
Word from 0 to 4294967295
