So like, I've tried almost EVERYTHING, but I can't get to where the fight screen will go smoothly.

It always goes UBER slow. D:
So, will anyone please tell me the best Plug-Ins for my setup?
Also, the best ePSXe version for it?

((I'll be playing from my ISO))
I have a windows XP, 512 MB of RAM, Intel Pentium M processor 1500MHz.
OH, and I just downloaded DirectX 10. <3
I think that's it.
I'll need the config settings for the plug-ins too please.

Thanks for your time!

Windows XP has no support for Dx10... and the best plugins for ePSXe are OpenGL based.

Post/paste your GPU settings, if using Pete's plugins, it will also include your display device information. On Pete's plugins, in the configuration window, click the button at the bottom right (copy settings to clipboard) and do a paste here.

are you talking about the start battle (frame buffer) effect or are the battles themselves slow?

I just want the best config known for the game. D:

Anyway, the copy+Paste you wanted:
Plugin: Pete's OpenGL2 Driver 2.9
Author: Pete Bernert
Card vendor: NVIDIA Corporation
GFX card: GeForce FX Go5200/AGP/SSE2

Resolution/Color:
- 640x480 Window mode
- Internal X resolution: 1
- Internal Y resolution: 1
- Keep psx aspect ratio: off
- No render-to-texture: off

- Filtering: 3
- Hi-Res textures: 0
- TexWin pixel shader: off
- VRam size: 0 MBytes

Framerate:
- FPS limitation: off
- Frame skipping: off
- FPS limit: Auto

Compatibility:
- Offscreen drawing: 2
- Framebuffer effects: 0
- Framebuffer uploads: 1

Misc:
- Scanlines: off
- Mdec filter: off
- Screen filtering: off
- Shader effects: 0/1
- Flicker-fix border size: 0
- GF4/XP crash fix: off
- Game fixes: on [00000003]

AND, the battles themselves are slow.

Yes, actually, it does matter. And there is no "best" config. It all depends on your system.

Since you have a GeforceFX 5200, I wouldn't recommend using Pete's OpenGL2 plugin. You can try setting internal X and Y resolutions to '0', but you likely won't see much of an improvement. :(

I'd recommend you get Pete's original OpenGL plugin or his D3D plugins and give them a whirl. These plugins are a lot less demanding than OpenGL2. :thumb:

I can't find any plug ins on his page with D3D in the title.

EDIT:
I got it, thanks!
Oh bugger, there's a glitch where the fight sometimes will like freeze.
As in none of the characters will move. Friend or foe.
But the music will continue.

update your video drivers.

disable the gamefixes, with FBE set to 3 its useless.
set OD to 1. and FU to 0,

or FBE and FU to 2, with the 0x1 and 0x2 gamefixes
