it means you might not have a required Runtime installed, such as the VC2008 or 2005 runtimes.

It might require the VS2005 or 2008SP1 (both are SP1 now) Runtimes.
might even be VC6 runtime.

Visual C++ 6 Redistributable.

...MSFT is making if awefully hard on people, im thinking of hosting them somewhere and providing direct downloads.

uh.. you aren't installing the Development packages are you >.<

the Runtimes are only 2-4MB's.

FF7 doesn't have copy protection, however all PSX games have Subchannel data, which should be stored with the image in a suitable format.

If you mean save states, and you were previously loading via the LOAD ISO, you will need to rename the states for the games to match the numbered file on the disk.

The only window that is safe to press X on and retain memory card data is the log window. as it closes the entire epsxe process completely.
