I'm still on disc 1,
on the ship you get on disguised as a soldier, fighting Jenova BIRTH.
Everyone goes fine, until she casts her "Laser Tail" move. Then she doesn't do anything. She just continues her idle animation, and I can't do anything because it's still her turn. I have no idea what to do. Please help.

Please and thank you. :)

Yes, I am. I don't know how to create a memory card file, so I'm using that. Also, I'm using version 1.13. I don't know what kind of plug-ins I'm using, but I haven't changed them since I downloaded pSX a while ago.

Potentially, it could also be a frameskip issue, incorrectly set compatibility or bad dump.....

But could it be an incompatibility problem if it's worked for the first 5-10 hours of the game? And could it be a bad dump if the many different save states I've used all had the boss stop after the same move, after a different amount of turns. It's always after it uses "Tail Laser". I really have no idea what's going on. :(

Also, as far as using a memory card: the FAQ said to tell it to look for memory card files in the folder that has memory card files in it, I could do that, but I don't have any memory card files. The folder labeled "memory" is empty. I've looked all around.

no.

FFVII works perfectly on psx.

type file name and hit open on the memory card browse screen, they will be created the next time you run a game and properly exist psx.

Thanks for the help, and I got the memory cards working.

Is there a place with save files from FFVII online somewhere? I can only think of three ways around this problem:

1. Start the whole game over (undesirable, may not fix the problem)

2. Level using random battles for hours upon hours until I'm able to defeat the boss without it having more than a couple moves. (not happening)

3. Use a save space after the boss. (preferred option)

you might be able to find some uploaded saves on gamefaqs. considering its FF7 we are talking about here i would imagine that you could find quite a few, probably one that is after this particular spot but not too far ahead of it either.
