I have ffix working on my computer fine except the game slows down during points where it's "thinking" ie: after finishing a battle, while making commands during a battle. Is this normal? If not, how do I fix it? BTW, it's a NTSC version.

Here are my specs:
Windows ME
Pentium III 866 MHz
133 MHZ
40 GB Ultra ATA/66 Hard Drive
128 MB SDRAM

Is there anything else you need to know?

Well I was hoping for your plug-in settings as well. Now load times are standard, but when making commands during a battle, that one seems rather odd. You also didn't post what your video card was. You can try the making of an iso to see what happens as 5'8 suggested.

Well for one, you may wish to get update plug-ins. You may also wish to turn frameskipping off so that you don't get problems with your graphics menu. You are running at full framerate, right?

try playing at a lower resolution.. Preferably 640x480.. Of course this is pretty much explained in the FF9 FAQS.. Do a search of the epsxe board for em.. Battle menus and the option menus slow down if:

a. You play at a high resolution..
b. You computer isn't fast enough..

Your fps should be at 60 for ntsc games and 50 for Pal games.. If it deviates to lower Fps then lower your resolution..
