FFIX how to get it working? a BIG challenge for you

hi i have the uk PAL version on ffix and would like to play it on my pc. i have tried a few methods but cant get it to work.
all get is a blank screen wen i load the cd

i am trying it on epsxe 1.5.2 cuz alot of ppl say it wnt wrk wiv 1.60
i have tried to get a patch for the uk version and have just draged the files into the patches folder. is this correct?
so wot ime really lookin for is a step by step guide of how to get it working, would prob include all the config of all the plugins aswell - would be helpful

so if anyone could explain or possibly provide a link i would be greatful. although a personal response would be grate
