Hello ! Im having a really hard time tring to emulate FF9. Well .. the first and worst problem that im having is the menus, in the battle mode they dont display, and if they do, just show the Hp and the name of my characters. I have tried most of the plugins and none of then worked.

The second problem that im having is about the sound, that really isnt good at all. In the cgs the music stops and i get a really annoyng beep sound ehe. This can be cause i have pretty bad sound card, and i belive that this problem can't be fixed. I would like to know if with a sound blaster live for exemple the sounds gets better.

And my last problem is that the game gets kinda slow .. but this is cause of my shitty pc i guess

i have a voodoo3 and a p2 300. Any help would be really apreciated.

FF9 sounds great on my SB Live, so long as I'm using the Null2 SPU. While the Internal SPU works, it tends to give me rather poor results.

This is often the result of incorrectly set Filter settings. Since you're using a Voodoo card, I'd suggest using Lewpy's plugin, as it's more suited to the features of the card. While I'm using a newer card (a 3500TV), perhaps with a bit of reconfiguring you could modify my settings to work optimally for your card:

If you decide to use the Null2 plugin, know that there's a bug where the game will freeze just prior to the Prima Vista crashing. You can get around this by disabling the "Use VAG Stream" option before you get to that point (I usually save w/ Vivi just prior to crossing the rooftops, exit, reload and switch the VAG Stream option off, then reload my game).

You might also want to try Pete's Midas sound plugin. I have no problems w/that one at all. Null2's doesn't work right for me at all.
Also, yes, your computer is kind of slow for ePSXe. But w/a little work, you should be able to get good results. ePSXe was really written w/higher end systems in mind, but many, many, people w/lower end systems, like yours, enjoy it very much also.
sincerely,
