enable "mdec timing" by using epsxe executor.. Your custom Framecap of 200 is overboard.. Set it to 60 if your FF9 is NTSC and 50 is it's PAL..

If your version of FF9 is PAL, then you need a copy protection patch to make it work.. Do a search at www.google.com for "psx patches" or goto www.aldostools.com and see if the FF9 patch is there.. Find the country version of the patch that matches your country version of FF9.. You then either make an iso of your game and apply the patch, or use petes cd rom pluggin to play the game from the CD while applying the patch on the fly..

You also don't need the FF7 texture window fix for FF9.. Disable it.. Why do you have DMA chain set to "short"? Set it to "long".. That option is a special fix for Tekken 3's long pauses..

But now, the text seems crappy
Post up a picture and let me see.. Crappy as in pixelated? Or crappy as in messed up graphics? Maybe you changed something..

Hmm.. something I missed before.. You need to enable mask bit to show some of the effects in FF9 correctly..
