FF9 set up help

I have tried playing FF9 on both 152 and 160 emulators, and the 160 emulator seems to work the best. But i have the same problem with both. While playing, i get these annoying minor freeze ups and slow downs as well as occasional blackouts. And the game froze when I got to the fmv scene where the airship takes off from near the town of Dali. The CD is in good condition, so i do not think thats the problem, but i think the problem lies in my set up of the emulators. Could someone tell me what plugins to use and how to configure them so i can play the game. I tried using one sites suggestion and it made it go way to fast for it to work. My computer is a new Dell 9100, so my computer should be able to handle a lot. Please help me so I can play this classic game. Thank you.

always use ePSXe 1.5.2 for FF9. that's why you are getting the freeze on the town of dali.

what plugins are you using?
ugh, use the Edit button please. tidies things up a bit and makes it less confusing. no need for double/triple posting.

anyway, you should be using Pete's OpenGL2 (set it up here: http://www.ngemu.com/forums/showthread.php?p=763330#post763330), Eternal SPu with the FF9 fix, and you should make an ISO because laptop CD-ROM drives suck.

use ePSXe 1.5.2, i guess i didn't elaborate on it enough before, so i will now: ePSXe 1.6.0 has a ton of known and proven problems with FF9, so if you want to stay away from those, use 1.5.2 ;) if you are still having problems, try not using save states and see how that goes.
the horizontal lines are probably scanlines like dutchmasta said. also, turn on Vsync.
press escape.
you resurrected a year old thread just to say thanks? ehh, glad you appreciate it, but you dont have to dig up threads just for a thank you ;)
