Its against board rules to give a link to it. Unless you know of a patch site that doesn't have illegal material, but I don't think it exists.
Anyway your friends probably know of a patch site.

BTW its also against board rules to ask someone to give you a link through Email or some other way.

Thanx....I never visit the General forum. They really should put that on the radio buttons up top.

Anyway, I'm sure that Qhimm's site is about as legal as this emu site is. I'm not sure where the PAL Crack falls though. I guess if you bought the game, you have the right to play it on a PC? But then...again why would you bother playing it on a PC. So the question is. Is emulating Sony Disk legal? Cause if it isn't, this whole forum is illegal and so is every emulator. Being that Bleem is still outthere. I'm guessing that's not the case.

It's a very thin line.

It says it gives 3 warnings......so I guess I'll find out.

Your quite right about Qwimm's site. It is a site where you can download stuff that improves the pc versions of FF7/8 etc... to the point where they are a good as in an emulator. I'd say I link to there is Ok but a mod can correct me if I'm wrong.

About as legal? if there's anything illegal on the site then your link is no good. I haven't been there myself.

The patch itself is legal, but most sites with patches have illegal warez or roms. So why don't I just download the patch and attach it to a post? Because its too big(1.2Mb).

If you buy a game you have the right to make a backup copy of it and play it on whatever system/console can play it.

PSX emulators are legal except for the PSX bios files they use. It is legal to have a bios file if you own a Playstation.

Bleem and VGS are legal emulators because they made there own bios in a legal way.

look out! newbie here!

sorry guys, i'm a newbie here so this question might seem a bit dumb... :D

I live in Australia and we get the UK PAL version of FFIX here. so what does this patch allow us to do? does it mean you can use the original cd' s of the game without having to copy them? does it mean we still have to use an emulator? if this is not correct can someone explain what it means? please?

if this is true, then i'm off to my nearest gameshop and buying FFIX! :D :D

Yup you must have Pete's CDR 1.06 plugin and you can get the patch from PSXemu.com. (just wait for a second and the FF9 news will pop up)
Then select the patch's .ppf file in the CD plugin config to apply it to the original FF9 CD when your playing it.:) (You must select the patch file every time you play FF9 and select no patch when you want to play another game.)

Good grief I can't get this link right. It should work now, but if not just find the news entry about FF9 patch.

Ok fellow emulator players. I told my other on-line friends about the patch....Remember, I don't have the PAL version...and it seems that one has found a problem. Actually he's the only one that I know (outside this forum), who's tried it thus far. I'm wondering if anyone else has this problem or if maybe he just DL'ed a bad patch or something.

He says that the Equipment Abilites can't be junctioned in his game.

Anyone else having that problem?

(And Iso's are still the best way to play a game....)
