I'm writing here looking for help about the FMVs for FF9...
Can't seem to be able to run it smoothly with my ePSXe....there's glitches when the FMVs ran....
There's this example of the problem....in disc 3,the FMV of Invincible enslaving Alexander when Zidane was about to rescue Garnet(Dagger) just skipped after showing the initial part of Invincible showing his eye....there's no problem in playing the game afterwards....it's just...you know..the FMV just skipped...
Another exampe is in disc 2....when Brahne was trying to summon Bahamut...the FMV just skipped and the play resume....
I hope someone can really help me out....

I'm using Pete's D3D,Pete's ASPI SPU and ePSXe cdrom plugin.....
My system specs are AMD Athlon 1.33GHz running with 256SDRAM(133MHz) and Asus A7V 133 MoBo on Windows 98.....my video card is Creative Graphic Blaster Riva TNT 2 32MB with nVidia latest Detonator XP driver....
Please help.....

Try to run the game from an iso file....well....sorry to say that it didn't solve the problem....

I haven't try using DirectX8.1 but I would like if using it will solve the problem...can someone clarify this to me?

Any other option for me?Is it possible that my CD might lack some of the file for running the complete FMV?

Need to clarify too....I've tried to play the game with the PC version....and I got to know the entire sequence for some FMVs that I've told you earlier....well....is the PS version the same as the PC version?Like...when Brahne suimmon Bahamut in disc 2...did the PS version show the complete FMV of Bahamut destroying and injuring Kuja?I hope to know it.....

P/S:Did not continue to play with PC version because there's this bug in disc 2 that prevent the FMV of Garnet walking by the lake...
PC version run on VGS platform....

Well, the problem could be a scratched CD too. Have you tried running it on a real PSX? How about on a different PC system? Also, try a different copy of the FF9 CDs on your computer.

There's a pc version of ff9? This is the first I've heard of it. Do you only have problems with ff9 fmvs? Do they show up properly under a different emulator? It does sound to me though like your cds are messed up, sorry.

Emm....in reply to Gerbilcannon...well..I haven't try my cds on a different emulator...I hope to do it soon and cort out the problem...

Well...the FMV of Garnet walking by the lake before Disc 3 did not post any major problem...though sometimes....the same problem cropped up and sometimes the whole FMV just run ok...

What is really wrong? Can't seem to be able to play the game perfectly just like many of you did...it's really bothering my mind and makes me frustrated....I hope someone can tell me what exactly is wrong and the perfect config for my system....
Is it because of my display card?

One more thing....can anyone please tell me all the FMV files in the Kallisto version of FF9 in the discs?I hope to know whether some of the files in my discs are missing or not....Well...I don't think there's any scratch on my disc....

P/S: I think that demonzo is right....there's no PC version of FF9...just some pirates repackaged it with the VGS emulator on it...

My config again are Pete's OpenGl,Pete's ASPI spu and epSXe's cd rom plugin....
