Post your GPU Plugin Settings.

And I have the exact same card as you but never ran into those problems. I was using 1.7.0 though for ePSXe. (Except for the occasional freezing during FMV starts thanks to Save States)

For reference:
Here's the settings I used for FF9 which worked fine:

Code:
Plugin: Pete's OpenGL2 Driver 2.9
Author: Pete Bernert
Card vendor: ATI Technologies Inc.
GFX card: Radeon X1650 Series

Resolution/Color:
- 800x600 Window mode
- Internal X resolution: 2
- Internal Y resolution: 2
- Keep psx aspect ratio: off
- No render-to-texture: off

- Filtering: 0
- Hi-Res textures: 0
- TexWin pixel shader: on
- VRam size: 512 MBytes

Framerate:
- FPS limitation: on
- Frame skipping: off
- FPS limit: Auto

Compatibility:
- Offscreen drawing: 1
- Framebuffer effects: 2
- Framebuffer uploads: 1

Misc:
- Scanlines: off
- Mdec filter: off
- Screen filtering: on
- Shader effects: 5/3
- Flicker-fix border size: 0
- GF4/XP crash fix: off
- Game fixes: off [00000000]
Feel free to try them.

- Internal X resolution: 2
- Internal Y resolution: 2 < Does not go with these

- No render-to-texture: off < This

Set it to

- No render-to-texture: 2

You say 800x600 W/mode doesn't go with the settings, but it works fine for me in FF9. :S And seeing that he has the exact same graphic card it should work for him too.

What else would you suggest for him to use instead of the 2/2 setting if it doesn't work? (Don't see why it wouldn't work though, unless something else on his computer is causing the problems)

And why exactly did you say the Windowed Mode 800x600 settings don't go with that 2/2 setup anyway? Would that cause some glitches somehow?
