can anybody tell me the optimization that they play ff8 with because mine really sucks...the battle screen changes really slowly, and the third guy in my party's name doesn't show and either does his health meter...

for me with that game i have 2 problems, transparent battle menu, and your same problem (cant see 3rd person status)

For the battle screen,set Offscreen drawing to enhanced,and about the effect before battles,you can't do anything about it(except from playing in software).

Turning off vram primitives also speeds up the wipe effect a lot.

i never did have vram primitives on i dont have a check mark in any of those boxes down there in that last list......
