Im using epsxe version 1.6.0 to play final fantasy 7. So far i have had no problems until the part where u start to bet for chocobo races. just after u pay for a bet, the game slows down, hangs and crashes, leaving a blank screen. can anyone help????

windows 98se
128mb ram
nvidia graphics card
direct x 9.0

petes soft gpu plugin
eternal spu 1.41

i'd say it's either :

save state abuse (after using savestates, always save game to memcard, close game, reopen game and load game from memcard).
some weird 1.6.0 problem (try 1.5.2, even though i don't think this will help)
or a scratched/screwed disc (or a bad image, try remaking it)

i have two disc 1 cds and they both come out with the same problem. I cleaned both cds and there doesnt seem to be any scrathes on them. Nope, havent used savestates, always have saved to memcard. I have also noticed that this slowdown/crash problem occurs when u meet yuffie in the field and try to obtain her.

Tried using ePSXe 1.5.2?
Failing that, I suggest using PSXeven.

it worked perfectly for me... try using PCSX...

yeh it seems it doesnt happen in epsxe version 1.5.2, thanx for the advice. the slowdown of the game seems to be reduced with this version.
