I don't know if this is the appropriate board to post this, but I couldn't find any others.

And also, if this happens to be old news, please just fill me in on whats going on.

Anyhow, I was checking out GameSpot's PSP section when I saw that Advent Children was going to be on it. I thought it would be a game, but it's simply the movie in UMD disc format. But does this mean it will not be released any otherway?

It will be released on DVD and UMD. Nothing else though. It will be a straight to DVD release with no theater showings. Hope that answers your questions. Yea, most people knew about this, but hey, what you gonna do? :p
Nope. They are just going to reply on DVD sales. After the money they lost on FF: TSW they are going straight to DVD. We don't want square almost going bankrupt now do we? :p

Tar and feathering would be a good start, but you know there are more humiliating ways to do it....
Like being taken over by Microsoft?
... No! That shall never happen. No one deserves that fate :wizard:
grrr...square roolz. all u haterz can shuv it.

er...I mean...Square has released some of the most engaging and visually appealing games I've ever seen. (Not to mention the Final Fantasy series always has breathtaking soundtracks).
That's Square-Enix to you, two of my faviort makers (remember Enix held Tri-Aces' soul for a wile) merged to create a super giant.

Tastes are subjective my dear therefore FF will only result engaging if you don't get sick (as in: you had too much and feel the need to throw up) of the same clichés over and over again... graphically speaking Raziel has showed me 3D H games with graphics that make FFX movies look outdated (as well as other standard PC 3D games). Musical score is great I can't argue that... however it's not unparalleled. There is life beyond Final Fantasy... too bad people have such limited boundaries when it comes to video games.

I would like to show you my reasons why I should hate Squenix (well, this doesn't mean that I actually do hate them):

Well, I am from ole Europe. This leads to the disappointing conclusion that I will never legally own games like:

Xenogears, Xenosaga, Valkyrie Profile, Chrono Cross, Tales Of Destiny, Final Fantasy Tactics, Final Fantasy XI (PS2), SaGa Frontier, Legend Of Mana ... this can become a pretty long list, you know.

And now tell me games on my list that have not been published by either Square or Enix (You can remove Xenosaga from that list, because Namco indeed publishes it, but Square held enough rights for Xenogears to make Namco cancel the European release of Xenosaga).

-> OK, there's only one game that wasn't published or interferred by Squenix.

I know that there are lots of really good games that did make it to Europe, but why do some people think that Europe is too small to release...

P.S.: OK, I do own some of these games, but I have to use some not-so-legal techniques to actually play them.

P.P.S.: Another reason not to hate them might be Star Ocean 2 and 3.

Kaiser : did you need to name me ? :p

F-3582 : Xenosaga is planned in Europe, for sometime this year, better late than ever huh ? Namco has all the rights to Xenosaga/Xenogears, they bought them from Square-Enix.
As for Star Ocean 2, I don't understand you, it's been released in Europe, and Star Ocean 3 probably will be too.
MEZ LUVS SO3!! Quick off toipc question, what the hell does MP do in that game? I died when I got to 0, but when I perform Sword of Fury, it doesn't go down! I'm sure I knew what it did, but I had set the game down for a wile and now I for got half of everything, and the stragity guide isn't being helpful.

Well GameFAQs would have answered most of those questions. In any event when your MP reaches "0" it is called MP Death (Mental Death) and will be the only way to beat more difficult bosses since they may have a high HP count and not a lot of MP. As for certain skills, it will tell you if it drains HP or MP and depending whether it is binded to the weak or strong buttons.

Getting back to topic, Sqaure Enix will hopefully release that movie this year, I would like to get a peek at it when it comes out :)
