Your system most likely is just not strong enough.

CPU that's the only thing that's important, how strong your processor is, almost everything gets handled by it, the graphics part plays a tiny role (unlike with PC games) and basically just having a DX9 card is enough. RAM also plays a role with bigger games but anything 512MB and above should be safe.

As for Unlimited Mhz Disaster 10%...it's an option in the emu, it speeds things up by increasing the frameskipping meaning both smoothness and sound tend to go out the window so it's not really all that helpfull.

Hmm, if it's 3Ghz and speed aint that great then I would guess it's an old Pentium4 which is just not as efficient as all the newer processors.

I've played FF Tactics A2 through already, and this on my very old Athlon XP2800+ with no slowdowns at all. It must be something else then.
Any Anti-Virus software running in the background or any automatic Backup-, Defrag software?

The old Athlon's were more efficient than the old Pentium's.

True in some way... but my XP2800+ only runs with 2GHz stock.
The "2800+" means that it runs equally fast as a Pentium 2.8GHz.
(yes, it was back then with all this marketing nonsense)

So, a Pentium with real 3GHz should run faster than my XP2800+.

Edit:
And my XP lacks SSE2 which the Pentium indeed has.

this is strange cause my processor is just 1.9ghz and handles it really nice.

That was Defunct. the numbering scheme actually refered to an Athlon (Thunderbird) of that Mhz.

How do you get the "3D renderer" option to show up? My emulator doesn't have it
Then you are using a version older than 2.6, download the latest free version off the official homepage.
