Oh, well call me unaware then.... Doesn't really matter, still love the game. Beat it 4 times already and still go back and play it all the time.fivefeet8 said:HDR doesn't work on ATi cards. They get to use 3dc. Haven't seen any pics of 3dc though.
What about if it's not set at 'Very High'? Oh well, guess I have to mess around with it some.http://forums.ubi.com/eve/ubb.x?q=Y&a=tpc&s=400102&f=452106891&m=5411021032&p=1 said:SM 3.0 and SM 2.0x are now enabled by default when graphics settings are set to ‘Very High’. To see performance increases you must have Direct X 9.0c installed.

HDR doesn't work on Ati cards in Far Cry. But it's enabled by opening the console command and typing:Razor Blade said:Where do you configure all of those options?
Yeah. That is what I was thinking too, but isn't compression suppose to increase performance? Seems like the compression used in Far Cry actually decreases performance a tiny bit. And it actually does improve IQ. Maybe Nvidia cards are using software 3dc? Who knows. I'm not sure they are using DXt5 because DXt5 lowers IQ a bit and it's not in FAr Cry.Kane-Sama said:>There is also normal map compression. Seems to increase IQ a bit, but comes at a small performance penalty
I fail to see how it can improve IQ. it's simply compressing already existing normal maps. It's not using higher quality maps. Obviously I can see the changes, but I don't understand the why.
>That's what 3dc is supposed to do. But if nvidia doesn't have 3dc, then somehow Crytec has found a way to do something similar on Nvidia cards.
3dc is simply a normal map specific compression. On nVidia cards it'll be compressed via DXT5
