Well i've been thinking off making my video card fanless or maybe the cpu. I seen few products on newegg for cpu and for the video card. I only have enough money for one so gotta pick the one that will lessen the noise. Also i wont overclock so overclocking will never be a issue. I just wanted to ask if its a good idea and what brand should i get.

*cough* what about water cooling...? there are no fans required--totally silent.
LoL that would be great to have. But since i strapped for cashed its out of the question. I wouldnt mind getting water cooling system once dual core systems come out.

Well i decided after seeing all the links its kinda to expensive. I was just wondering because i leave my computer on over night and the noise is annoying. Well thanks for all the info. Ill probably get water cooling system for my next system in two years:).

What about Vapochill? :D

I might consider water cooling for my next system. But the whole fear of the Chaos Theory equation that reads: "Water + £2000 Worth of Electronics = pwnd" makes me stick to wind power.

Yeah thats a fear of getting water cooing system. But i figure if you test the system out for leaks you shouldnt have a problem. BUt i never send more than 1000 on any my systems. My last system cost me around $500 not including my Radeon 9800np from my older system.

If you want a silent PC, you don't need a fanless system. Zalman coolers are EXTREMELY quiet, a friend of mine has a system with 4 fans and you can barely notice it's on. The only noticeable sounds come from the HD.

I guess i really meant was the videocard fan and the cpu fan. All the other fans are fine since i can lower there rpm.

Get one of Zalman's CNPS (computer noise prevention system) coolers. They have fans but are almost inaudible even on the high setting, plus they cool VERY well.

I find it quite funny that a company such as Zalman that specialises in making things quiet also makes headphones. :D

Personally I'm a Swiftech and Coolermaster fan. Unless I focus on the noise of my PC, i can easily ignore it. And I have four case fans, an exhaust, a fan on my GPU and a Jet 4.
