I have a really crappy piece of hardware, but I was wondering if there is any way to speed up my game performance. Right now the game is running at around 40-50 FPS in normal gameplay, but when it's about to enter a battle the FPS drops to around 30.
Here are my specs.

400Mhz
ATI Rage card
(that's basically all I know)
I anyone needs any more information, I could try to provide you with it.

I got same speed as you got.........................
I using Pete 1.51 D3D DX6
In worldmap or town I got 50-60 FPS
When I enter battle my FPS drop to 20 FPS................
In battle I got 30-60 (If I use big magic I got 30)
If you try to speed up try to fast setting..............

well, enigma, ur settings will make the game slower since u have all the good colors and stuff on. In my game, even if I turn the setting to fast, the game is still really slow.

Forcoda, try turning off any "little" programs that you may have running in the back ground. This helped me a lot when Gauntlet Legends used to run slow. Also you can set your settings to fast and remove "use FPS" to try to help speed things some.
