You tried enabling 'Alpha Multi pass'?
screen smoothing off? odd/even bit hack off? advanced blending off? change the filtering?
Wich drivers and directx version are you using? Maybe upgrading/downgrading drivers, or even reinstalling dx can help.
Driver settings.
try turning texture filtering off completely then.
tried to turn the texture filtering off, no change.
I use the exact same drivers and dx versions as i did when i last played the game, and it runned smooth then... wierd...
not sure if your system could handle the plugin change but if you use the opengl2 graphics plugin it removes that horrible problem as i had the same issue until i changed to the driver, not sure what they did to fix it but i wont use the normal opengl plugin again. plus it has made my playing ffxi near perfect now on my system, only hint at trouble is a tiny(i mean very tiny) slow down going into battles. if you would like a listing of my settings for the plug in just send me an e-mail(not sure if i made e-mail change as of recently so just in case send to [email protected]:) ) .

i got a problem too with ff9. when i turn on frameskipping to increase gamespeed, my battlemenu disappears and the screen start blinking. do anyone know how i can run the game fast without problems?i have tried epsxe 16. and 1.5.2, and im using pete's plugin 2.6
