Exporting Gameshark Saves

Does this feature not work or what? When I try to load the Gameshark save to my GBA game (My physical one) It still has the same gamesave as it did before I loaded it! Yet there's a different gamesave on my ROM. That's why I'm wondering if this feature just doesn't work or not.
