If your video card supports FSAA then you should use that. I think it works best with filtering turned off, but I'm not sure. Only Geforce, Voodoo5(maybe voodoo4?), and Kyro2 cards have FSAA.

What voodoo card to you have? I got a voodoo 5 5500 and it gives me great graphics.. 2d and 3d.. Try running the game at 640x480, biliniear filtering set to enabled w\out sprites.. If you got a voodoo 5 then use 4xFSAA if your comp can handle it.... Here is my configuration of FF9:

You can also try 960x720 res... If you don't got FSAA then the text and 2d graphics will look pixelated but just play the game a few feet away and they will look better... :) You can check my screenshots of this game running on my voodoo 5 here:

Played FF9 with Pete's OpenGL 1.50 with the Fast option. Background of the menu/dialog is fixed, but the graphic is quite poor. Lewpy's graphic is really great, but the background of the menu/dialog is really poor.... Help me!!
