I just installed the latest version of psxe, and downloaded some plug-ins. i have the 1001 bios, and that 7502 (i think) bios as well. I have a CDR backup copy of resident evil 1, and when i click on "file, run cd-rom", it initiates the black screen prompt for gameplay, but it never loads.I tried configuring the cd-rom drives, still no luck. So, i decided to pop in a original game disc (tekken 1), and it still didn't work. Can someone please help me? thanks

Why didn't you try your original RE game? Enable logs on ePSXe (run->enable logs) and tell us what happens there. My bet is that you are using a cd plugin based on ASPI with a win2000/xp system, so you'll need an IOCTL one.

When I'll find my Tekken1 I'll check it (AFAIK when I was playing it there was no problem)... but I think I-Chan is rigt about ASPI based cd plugin

In Actuality, i don't have the original RE game. and when i try other cd-rom plugins, they don't recognize that i in fact, have two cd-rom drives (1) DVD Burning drive (2) Cd-Writer drive.

Okay, i finally got things to work. 2 problems. I ran the game from the cd-rom, it worked fine. but the sound was crackling, it was messed up, even with different plugins. so i ran the game just using the image file, and the sound crackling is only like 5 percent better. And the games speed is like, 40 times faster. what the hell jill?

oh yea, BTW, i'm talking about resident evil 1. thanks

enable the frame limiter in Pete's video plugin

and for the crackeling, use Ethernal's and play around with the buffer size
