Well, it would perhaps be a good idea to finally release the src to ePSXe so some people with dev knowledge could enchance it.
Needless to say, that using the 32bit binaries on a 64bit system results in a few compatibilty issues.
What about users, who use a pure breed 64 bit system without multilib & 32bit emulation support?
Think about it, and the scene could be moving much much faster if it were OpenSource.

Well not really. WRT the core all the assembly code would have to be totally rewritten for x86_64 and debugged/tested, so you couldn't guarantee the same level of compatibility (well for the inital releases at least). Also all the 3rd party plugins would need to be recompiled for x86_64 too. Personally speaking I see that as being too much work for little to no benefit.

That said however, if you are really looking to port something, so download the source for pcsx. It's got effectively the same compatibility anyways.
