Just enable the "SIO Irq" before launching the game or press F4 before saving onto your memory card.
(Although I've experienced some troubles w/ some games with that...Xenogears, sigh)

I, personnally, think that it's the only major annoying issue in ePSXe.
Compatibility's just okay for all my games.
