i dun wanna beat ff 9 in 12 hours and yet i still want to get excalibur II...anyone got any suggestions?

ff9 takes 9 hours to finish?? i wonder i played bo4 and takes me 30+ hours

FireGL, you got it wrong, what happens is that in order to attain the excalibur II you have to get to the nearly end of the game in just 12 hours (almost impossible cos you have to pass by the mdecs and do others tricks)...it takes a lot of the fun ou of the game...maybe i will do thsi when i play it for the 5th time or so... ( the first time took me 80 hours)
There should be a way to get around this...(waiting till the gameplay hours to get to 99 then go back to 00, but this is told not to work)

but if he put the code in gameshark to be always the time less than 12 hs and play normally he can have the fun of the game and get the excalibur II

why bother running a 12 hours race just to get the Excalibur 2?

use pec, and let Vivi (on the very first stage) to get you 99 everything (yes, that includes the Excalibur 2)

A couple of decent abilities, but nothing unique to that sword.

Amit69: It's the best weapon in FF9, which is just about impossible to get if you play the game without any alterations.

Go to www.gamefaqs.com and look under the excalibur 2 guide for FF9. It teaches you how to skip the mdecs (for the PS, I believe you can skip it with the emu?), and other stuff to speed your way through.
It isn't fun doing it that way though.

EXCALIBUR II allows steiner to learn Chimhazzard and Stock Break (?) ... i know chimhazzard for sure but not sure about stock break, i think he also learns Shock...these 3 moves are like the best in the game (in my opinion)

i got excalibur ii using the hack and i just let it sit there...now i can slowly savour the game
