One thing I hate is not being able to change settings after turning off a game. Why the hell is this still an issue? Just let us fix the settings mid game instead of having this complicated bullcrap where you have to restart it JUST TO CHANGE THE SMALLEST THINGS

Actually it can change settings mid game. Open one instance of epsxe then load/run the game. Then press Esc but dont close the current epsxe with running game..
Then open another instance of epsxe then you can adjust/tinker the settings. After setting it you can go back to previous instance of epsxe with game loaded just Run-> Continue to check the settings applied.

Not a great solution but still better than closing and running again the epsxe.

Honestly what settings would you want to adjust on the fly? ePSXe is pretty much flawless, and other settings like memory card you can change on the fly.

You also can change some options of the opengl2 plugin on the fly with DEL, END , PGDW keys.

For those who do not get the brilliance in this message. Any of the many threads I have read, this is the solution DING DING DING RIGHT HERE. Follow his directions, and the "adjust/tinker the settings" is Config/Gamepads/Port 1 and with your controller that is now active again, check the left, and right, and down, and up, .... Run/Continue and hey! Im back in the game.
