Hey guys, this is my first post ever to a board but I was wondering if i could get some help. I have a chipped psx and the only reason I want to use epsxe is so i can tell if a game is jap/pal/us before i burn it. I collect US psx games and hate it when i download a game and burn it just to find out its pal or jap. I read something about fast boot but i cant seem to disable it. The first couple times I used the emu it worked the way I wanted it to, but nit i cant see the sony boot screens.......Any help would be greatly appreciated..

You guys know as well as me that you dont buy the games. If you did then why dont you just go buy a psx? Why do you need to emulate it and then complain about how certain games dont work...i mean is there anyone out there that has the same problem as me? Can anyone tell me how to disable fast boot on epsxe? Thank You

I'm glad you've completely validated your existence now. If you'll note, there are a number of people on here who do own a psx. Some of us here (me) don't own a tv, so what would we hook the psx up to? And what if we like to play with all the graphics enhancements? I personally like my filtered textures and fullscreen 4x4 anti-aliasing. Read the documentation then since you're such the smart fellow.

I own a PSX(and a TV of course:D )but since ePSXe is out,I don't play much with it,cause nothing compares to ePSXe enhanced Gfx.
Also, about copying PSX games,I agree that a lot of people do copy them(I do but I also buy the games that are worth buying),but, talking about this on the board is n't recommended so please don't get pissed off and try to calm down, cause it will only lead you to troubles.

You guys are the experts, I'm sure you've turned it on so can I please get a straight reply and not some pirate bashing?

Well, the best thing would be to use PECedit cause it can tell you the serial number of the game, like:

SLES-xxxxx/SCES-xxxxx for PAL european game.
SCUS-xxxxx/SLUS-xxxxx for US NTSC games
SLPS-xxxxx for Japan NTSC/J games.

raz is right. you can tell what region the game came from by its id code. as far as i understand, you may not even need a hex editor. just pop the cd in your computer and use "my computer" or "explorer" and check the volume id. a lot of times there is also a file named as the id number.

im deleting your other thread since it is basically a repeat of this one and we dont really like multiple postings.

What really annoys me besides his persistence in assuming everyone is evil and depraved, are his statements like "You guys are the experts, I'm sure you've turned it on" and so forth. Flat statements like that are down right accusatory, like we are purposefully hiding everything. Mayhap I'm just being an ornery old man and taking umbrage far too easily.

Ive had my problem resolved as I've been informed to just open a dow prompt and to type -nogui -loadbin filename.bin. I guess you guys didn't understand the question. I download all my games and play them on a chipped psx. I wanted to know how I could tell where the games came from BEFORE I burned them. If I burn them I can just pop them in my psx and find out where they came from, that wasn't what I needed help in. I didn't mean to offend anyone, I just needed a simple answer to a simple question. The reason I said "you guys are the experts" is because obviously you know what you're doing when you reply to peoples posts...if not then why would you give false information in the first place? O well.. I just wanted to say the problem has been resolved and I didn't mean any harm in what was said...

First thing you do is take your bow & arrow and go out and shoot a duck. Next you pluck it. Then you take out everything that is gooey inside. Don't forget to cut off its head. Then you put it on a pan and put it in the oven. Then you take your credit card and go down to your local restaurant that serves duck because you just burnt yours.
