No, EGG ( Elemental Gimmick Gear ) will not work for Chankast because it needs a boot disk and from what I've learned, Chankast does not support a boot cd. The best thing to do ( if you dumped the image from your DC or forbiddenly downloaded the DC image ) is to burn it to a cd and then download Utopia v5.0 and make a boot cd. If you don't have a Dreamcast, then buy one ( if you have the money or can find one ) and then use the boot cd and then play the game on the Dreamcast system. The Dreamcast system HAS to be made before Oct 2000 or you will be out of luck upon making the image work on the Dreamcast system. The best thing all together is to play it on the Dreamcast console because EGG requires a boot disk and Chankast just doesn't support that. Don't try to convert it to a selfbootable game because it will corrupt the image.
It is an 2D RPG, switching to 3D graphics during boss battles (Released in 1999) Not too bad in 1999, but when RPGs as Skies Of Arcadia, Grandia 2, Evolution 1/2, Climax Landers, Phantasy Star Online and Record Of Lodoss War came out, EGG was a horrible compared to them
EGG has got its charm, it's got some absolutely lovely 2d backgrounds and very atmospheric music, the 3d fights are a bit messy though. It's a great Zelda-like game with tough puzzles. The intro FMV is beautiful as well.
@GaryRice: Afaik there is no Utopia v5.0, it stopped at 1.4 or 1.5 I think. And you will never need a boot cd if you're gonna play it on your DC, just use the original game. The only reason for a boot cd should be if your game has been imported. Final point: EGG does not need a bootdisc as long as you have a correct image or the original game.
