I was wondering if there was anyway to edit the little graphic on the left side of the start menu in windows. Anyone know how?

Unless you're using somekind of windows shell replacement (windows blinds, talisman, geoshell, etc)...

Actually, it is possible! I read in an issue of Maximum PC where they used a Hex code program or something to edit the word "Start" (at least). They wrote "Igor!" As soon as find the mag, I'll post the issue and (if it isn't too long) the instructions.

Found it! July 2001. Basically: use a Hex editor like UltraEdit-32 to read a copy of explorer.exe, find all instances of START in Hex, change it (5 character max), copy explorer.exe to Win directory in DOS mode (can't be done in Windows), reboot (exact details in mag, this is VERY oversimplified)! Won't work in Win2K . Igor!

I have the same windowblinds skin. V2.2 added extra skin support to the taskbar so I assume that it can now be changed. However Thecat2000 hasn't updated the skin yet. Download skinstudio and see if its possible to make one that way.
