DVD Skipping in Media Player Classic

2790 Views 5 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Snake785
Whenever I play DVDs in Media Player Classic, they always skip. I'm thinking it might be the crappy sound card I'm running at the moment (Sound Blaster PCI) but I have a fast computer, so that should make up for it.

Windows XP Pro
Athlon XP2600+
512MB RAM
GeForce 5600 256MB

Any help would be appreciated.

Maybe you have a renderer/codec selected that requires a lot of power. Use either the Overlay Mixer or VMR7 (windowed). I use VMR7 (windowed) on my machine (which is kinda close in terms of power) and I get no problems at all. Oh and if you use ffdshow, make sure you have too many filters (like postprocessing) enabled as that can slow things down as well. I hope that helps.
No problem. Glad I could help :D
