Other than a CD being Scratched (which i checked) what could case my dvd play back to stutter around from time to time in a middle of a movie? oO figgured it had to be a read ahead thing but i dunno, i have a 24x speed drive. maybe its starting to die?

I had an old Sony drive that did that when it was overheating.

When you start to get skipping, eject the disc. My one was pretty fooking hot. To the point I got blisters from it.
