DVD drive LG problem

Well my dvd drive is acting strange, when I burn or watch movies from it, the pc is acting all slow, the mouse is laggginggg alot, and the movies are delayed alot with AWFUL sound.

I can still copy the contents to my harddrive though.

And I checked explorer and saw something strange, the dvd drive is being mentioned as CD drive.....

What can I do to fix it?

Uh, buy a new one? They're like, $20 if even that.

Check in BIOS and device manager that it's not running in PIO mode if it's an IDE drive.

Maybe Windows configured it incorrectly? Device manager > right-click DVD drive > uninstall. Then search for new hardware or reset the computer.
